Booking a meeting room in Riyadh looks simple until the occasion takes shape. A board meeting needs a closed room and a table everyone can see across. Training days need wall space and power at every seat, plus somewhere to take a break. A launch for a hundred guests needs a hall with a stage, and parking becomes part of the plan.
Below, room types are sorted by occasion, followed by a checklist to run before you confirm a booking. The last sections cover DIOM's hourly meeting rooms and its conference venue in Riyadh. If you only need a room for a few hours, DIOM Flex meeting rooms at three Riyadh locations can be booked by the hour in the DIOM app.

Room types by occasion: match the room to the meeting
Start with the number of people and how they need to face each other. Then ask what else has to happen in the room besides talking. The table below starts from the occasion, and the room type follows from there.

Usual layout: One table, everyone facing in
What decides the choice: Privacy, a screen every seat can read, no walk-through traffic

Boardroom for board meetings and client meetings
A boardroom puts a small group around one table with nothing to distract them. For a board or investor meeting, most of the questions come down to control. Can the room be closed off from the corridor, and can every seat see the screen clearly? Check too that the room is yours for the full slot, so a previous booking that runs over does not cut into your time.
With a client, the room is only half the decision. Their impression starts at the car park and the reception desk, before anyone sits down. A meeting room inside a coworking space in daily use at Rubeen Plaza feels different from one at Zallal in Diriyah, with At-Turaif across the wadi. Neither is better. Each suits a different kind of client and conversation.

Training room and workshop space
In a training room, the walls and the floor matter more than the table. Participants have to see the facilitator and the screen and write on something. Later they may split into small groups, and that should not mean rearranging the whole room. That is why trainers usually ask for a U-shape or classroom layout.
Space is the usual problem. A U-shape leaves the centre of the room open, so capacity changes with the layout. Ask the venue for a U-shape plan that seats your number, with space left for the screen and for the facilitator to move. The room's maximum capacity will not tell you that.
Conference hall and theatre for talks and launches
Past a certain size, the search moves from rooms to venues. A conference or a product launch needs a stage with sound and projection, plus a registration point. Catering has to be planned, and the parking must cope with everyone arriving in the same fifteen minutes.
In Riyadh that usually means a hotel ballroom, a convention centre or a dedicated event venue such as DIOM X. X Diriyah at Zallal has indoor and outdoor space on two floors and theatre-style seating for talks. DIOM's own team can also manage the event. The venue hosts conferences and talks, corporate events, and workshops and training. It is also used for exhibitions and showcases, networking events, brand activations, and receptions and dinners.
Hourly, half-day or full-day booking
Meeting rooms at DIOM Flex are charged at a fixed hourly rate, so you book the hours your agenda needs. There is no half-day or full-day package. For a ninety-minute review, add a little time to settle in and wrap up, then check the booking lengths the app offers. A half-day workshop is a block of consecutive hours, and a full day is a longer block. Some rooms have a minimum booking length, which the app shows.
Three- and six-month Flex plans include a block of free meeting-room hours. How many depends on the location, and each pricing card on the Flex page shows the number. If your team already holds a plan, use those hours first.
DIOM X is booked by the day, for one day or several. Bookings go through an enquiry to the team, and part of the venue can be allocated to match what the event needs. You then agree the date and the space with the team, along with how much event management you want.

What to check before you book a meeting room or venue
Five checks decide whether the room works on the day. In order, they are screen and connectivity, catering, parking, prayer room and accessibility, and the terms for cancellation and invoicing. Run them before you confirm.
Screen, sound and connectivity, including hybrid meetings
Ask what is physically in the room. Is there a screen you can connect a laptop to, and does that work by cable or wirelessly? Check for a whiteboard or flipchart, and ask how the WiFi holds up when the room is full. A hybrid meeting also needs a camera and a microphone that pick up everyone at the table, including people far from the laptop.
Meeting-room clients at DIOM Flex get high-speed WiFi and printing. Ask at booking what screen and video-conferencing equipment the room you choose has. At DIOM X, the venue's AV and technical support handles sound and lighting, and projection too.
Catering and refreshments
A short meeting only needs drinks, in the room or in a lounge next to it. Events are different, because catering becomes a line in the plan with its own menu and timing. Someone also has to decide on service staff and where food is served during the programme.
Meeting-room clients at DIOM Flex have coffee, tea and water included, along with the lounge and printing. DIOM X arranges catering and hospitality as an event service with the venue booking.
Parking and arrival
Parking often decides whether people arrive on time and in a good mood. Ask how many spaces there are and whether they are on site or on the street. A first-time visitor also needs to find the entrance and the reception desk easily. With a hundred guests, find out what happens when they all arrive at once.
Zallal in Diriyah, home to both DIOM Flex Diriyah and DIOM X, has on-site parking for more than 1,300 cars. At the Diplomatic Quarter and Rubeen Plaza, ask about parking when you book.
Prayer room and accessibility
A full-day session stays on schedule when the prayer room is close to the meeting room. Ask too about step-free access from the car park to the room. Some guests rely on it, and a venue should be able to tell you plainly whether it has it.
Cancellation, changes and invoicing
Read the cancellation and change terms before you confirm, especially for an event where catering and setup are ordered in advance. Find out how late a booking can be moved and whether unused hours are refunded. It also helps to know what happens if the meeting runs over. If the booking is for a company, confirm how the invoice is issued so finance has what it needs. For a DIOM X event, cancelling more than a week before the date is free. Inside that week, 20% of the amount is deducted, and the exact figure depends on how close the date is.

DIOM meeting rooms and venues in Riyadh
DIOM operates meeting rooms by the hour at its three Flex locations and a dedicated conference and event venue at Diriyah.
DIOM Flex meeting rooms: Diriyah, Diplomatic Quarter and Rubeen Plaza
DIOM Flex has three Riyadh locations: Zallal in Diriyah, the Diplomatic Quarter and Rubeen Plaza. DIOM operates all three, and each has meeting rooms you can book by the hour in the DIOM app. No monthly membership is needed to book a room. Once you pick a room and a time, the app shows the fixed hourly rate. Meeting-room clients also get high-speed WiFi, hot drinks and water, the lounge and printing. The focus pods are open to them too.
Diriyah has two meeting rooms and a board room. In the Diplomatic Quarter, board rooms sit alongside private offices and shared spaces, while Rubeen Plaza has a meeting room and focus pods next to its shared desks. Room sizes vary by location, with rooms that seat ten people, rooms for six and rooms for four. Opening hours vary by branch, so check the location's Google Maps listing before an early or late booking.
The Diriyah location is covered in detail in Working from Diriyah, including the rooms at Zallal and how a client meeting there tends to run. A separate post covers planning a working day in the Diplomatic Quarter.
DIOM X at Zallal, Diriyah: conference and event venue
DIOM X brings together DIOM's event spaces. X Diriyah sits inside Zallal at the entrance to Bujairi Terrace and runs across two floors. The ground floor has 486 sqm indoors and 189 sqm outdoors and takes up to 130 guests. The first floor has 210 sqm indoors plus a 479 sqm terrace, for up to 70 guests. Layouts include U-shape and C-shape, as well as banquet and theatre-style seating. The venue is booked by the day, for one day or several, and on-site parking at Zallal holds more than 1,300 cars.
DIOM operates the venue, and its team can also run the event. The same team that runs DIOM's workspaces handles event planning and setup, and it provides AV and technical support for sound, lighting and projection. Branding and décor are available too, as are catering and hospitality. There are three levels of booking: space only, space with basic setup, or full event management. Catering, branding, AV upgrades and photography can be added. An agency that manages its own production might take the space alone. A company without an events function can hand over the whole programme.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a meeting room in Riyadh cost per hour?
Meeting rooms at DIOM Flex are charged at a fixed hourly rate, with no day rate. DIOM does not publish the rate on this site, so check availability in the DIOM app or ask the team for a quote. Three- and six-month Flex plans include free meeting-room hours, and each location's pricing card shows how many.
What capacity do I need for 20 people in a U-shape?
It depends on the room, because capacity changes with the layout. A U-shape leaves the centre open, so the same room seats fewer people than it would in theatre or boardroom seating. Ask the venue for a U-shape plan that seats twenty with room for the screen at the open end. Do not go by the room's maximum capacity alone.
Can I book a conference room for one day?
Yes. DIOM X at Diriyah is booked by the day through an enquiry, for one day or several, and part of the venue can be allocated to your event. DIOM Flex meeting rooms are booked by the hour, so a full day there means booking consecutive hours. Some rooms have a minimum booking length, which the app shows.
Do meeting rooms include catering?
DIOM Flex meeting rooms come with hot drinks and water, the lounge, high-speed WiFi and printing. Confirm the inclusions for the room you book. Full catering is an event service at DIOM X. It is arranged in the same enquiry as the venue, together with AV and branding, plus event management. Check the menu and timing in the proposal, and whether service staff are included.
Is there a venue for 100+ people in Riyadh with parking?
Yes. DIOM X at Zallal in Diriyah has indoor and outdoor space and takes up to 130 guests on the ground floor and up to 70 on the first floor. On-site parking holds more than 1,300 cars. It hosts conferences and talks, corporate events, exhibitions, networking events and receptions.
How early should I book for a corporate event?
Book as soon as the date is fixed. A space-only booking needs the least lead time. A full programme needs more, because every added service, such as catering or AV, needs its own planning window.
